Iran claims Israel aiding Saudi in Yemen!

If true, it’s big news. I like the idea of a “Saudi-Zionist” coalition! Who thought I’d live long enough to see that?

Leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi has revealed that Israeli warplanes have been detected flying over the key port city of Hudaydah.

Houthi said Israeli jets have been seen in Hudaydah’s skies over the past few days amid a push by Saudi mercenaries to seize the city, Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

“Yemen is actually fighting against a Saudi-Zionist coalition,” he said, referring to a military campaign which Riyadh has been carrying out against Yemen since 2015.

Arrests in Saudi!

So whom were these people working for? Iran? ISIS? Muslim Brotherhood?

RIYADH: The Public Prosecutors’ Office in Riyadh issued a statement on Saturday about the recent arrest of Saudi citizens on allegations of conspiring to undermine the security of the Kingdom.

Seventeen people were detained and questioned, prosecutors said. Of the 17, five women and three men have been provisionally released until investigations are complete. The remaining five men and four women remain under arrest, based on the evidence against them and their own confessions, prosecutors said.

Those who have confessed admitted communicating and collaborating with people and groups hostile to the Kingdom; recruiting people in a sensitive government organization to obtain confidential information and official documents that harmed Saudi national security; and providing financial and moral support to hostile elements abroad.

Yes, you’ve read all the stories about the Iranians pressuring the Europeans to turn their backs on the US and support Iran. But what has gotten less press are the actions of the Saudis, who have even greater levels of trade with Europe than Iran, to  convince the Europeans NOT to bend over backward for the Iranians. These two articles focus on the particularly poor Saudi-German relationship.

Iranian proxies fire more missiles into Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Royal Air Defense Force intercepted on Friday morning a ballistic missile headed towards Najran.

The missile was spotted at 00:39 Saudi time and was said to be fired by the Houthi militia in Yemen.

The Houthis deliberately fired the missile towards Najran, targeting civilian and populated areas, coalition spokesman Turki Al-Maliki said in a statement released by the official Saudi Press Agency.

Debris from the missile landed in residential areas of Najran without causing casualties, Al-Maliki said.

The Houthi miltias claimed the attack via their news outlet Al-Masirah, saying the “Badr 1” missile had targeted Najran.

The Iran-backed insurgents have in recent months ramped up missile attacks against neighbouring Saudi Arabia.

Saudis promise to offset Iranian petroleum cuts

They don’t say it hear, but that’s what this is all about. The Saudis didn’t like the Iran nuke treaty. They are delighted to see Trump withdraw from it. And they are willing to increase production if necessary, should Iranian production drop.

Saudi Arabia announced on Friday that it was holding consultations with other oil producers in and outside OPEC, in a move aimed at securing the world’s supplies are adequate to support economic growth after prices hit $80.

Oil rates touched $80 a barrel for the first time since 2014.

Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih said in a Twitter post that he had called his counterparts in the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Russia, as well as major oil consumer South Korea, to “coordinate global action to ease global market anxiety”.

Falih also said he had reassured the executive director of the International Energy Agency of “commitment to the stability of oil markets and the global economy” and that he would contact others over the next few days.

On Thursday, Falih called Indian Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to assure him that supporting global economic growth was “one of the Kingdom’s key goals”, the Saudi government said in a statement, after India expressed frustration with the recent surge in oil prices.

Oil prices held firm on Friday, with Brent crude trading at around $79.70 per barrel after the international benchmark broke through $80 for the first time since November 2014 the previous day.

The Saudi energy ministry said on Thursday that the Kingdom together with other producers would ensure the availability of adequate supplies to offset any potential shortfalls.

India’s Pradhan had expressed concern about the negative impact of escalating prices on consumers and especially the Indian economy, the world’s third-largest oil consumer.

India is one of the world’s fastest-growing energy consumers and its oil use lags only that of the United States and China.

Iranian press: Saudi Crown Prince Likely Killed in Coup

Possible.  We shall see. There are plenty of people who’d like to kill the Saudi royals.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is likely dead after an assassination attempt on his life last month, a Persian-language daily reported claiming intel from the security service of an Arab state.

According to the Persian-language newspaper, Keyhan, a secret service report sent to the senior officials of an unnamed Arab state disclosed that bin Salman has been hit by two bullets during the April 21 attack on his palace, adding that he might well be dead as he has never appeared in the public eversince.

Heavy gunfire was heard near the Saudi King’s palace in Riyadh Saudi Arabia on April 21, while King Salman was taken to a US bunker at an airbase in the city.

A growing number of videos surfaced the media at the time displaying that a heavy gunfire erupted around King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s palace in the capital, Riyadh.

Reports said the king and his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, were evacuated to a bunker at an airbase in the city that is under the protection of the US troops.

While Saudi officials and media were quiet over the incident, there were contradicting reports over the incident. Witnesses and residents of the neighborhoods near the palace said a coup was underway, adding that the soldiers attacking the palace were guided by footage and intel they were receiving from a drone flying over the palace.

Teaching manuals in Gulf Arab-financed mosques in Belgium promote anti-Semitic stereotypes of Jews and call for the persecution of homosexuals, according to a leaked Belgian intelligence report.

The texts used in mosques including the Brussels Grand Mosque call for gays to be stoned to death or thrown off buildings and describe Jews as “evil”, the report by the OCAM national terrorism monitoring center said….

The manuals call Jews a “corrupt, evil and treacherous people” and call for “war” on all people who do not follow Sunni Islam.

They also recommend “stoning” and “fire” as methods of killing gays, along with throwing them off “the highest building in the village”.

One manual says “the most important principle of jihad is to fight unbelievers and aggressors,” according to the report. “Armed jihad becomes an individual duty for every Muslim.”

OCAM said such manuals are widely available “thanks to the unlimited financial and technological means of the proselytizing apparatus of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.”

Yesterday’s reports on Saudi allowing Christian churches was “fake news”!

The Vatican has denied reports that it entered into an agreement with the government of Saudi Arabia to build Christian churches in the country.

On Friday, Breitbart News commented on a recent report by the Egypt Independent newspaper that for the first time in history, Saudi Arabia had signed a joint agreement with the Vatican to build churches for Christians living in the officially Muslim nation. (The online page containing that report is no longer available.)

The Egypt Independent had declared that the accord had been signed by the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdel Karim Al-Issa and Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, the president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue in the Vatican, while the Financial Express added that Saudi Arabia’s newfound openness to socio-cultural cooperation with the non-Muslim world would have stemmed from a desire to reduce dependency on oil resources, its primary economic driver.

On Saturday, however, Vatican spokesman Greg Burke told Breitbart News that no such agreement has been reached.

Saudis prepare for women on the roads!

My own view is that this reform is driven, pardon then pun, by the reality that quite soon, because of the loss of oil revenues, Saudi women are going to have to work! And if they have to work, they have to be able to get to work. Hence the “reform” to “allow” them to drive.

JEDDAH: No sooner had the announcement been made in September 2017 that Saudi women would be free to drive in Saudi Arabia from June 2018 than many of world’s largest car manufacturers began to target them with advertisements.

In addition, driving schools for women were set up in the Kingdom for the first time, while motor insurance companies made plans to target the new female market, and ca maintenance workshops for women are being offered.

Five Saudi universities have launched driving schools for women: Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, Tabuk University, Taif University and Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University.

The Saudi Driving School, at Princess Nourah University, the first for women in the capital, was launched in partnership with the Emirates Driving Institute in Dubai, an established driving school in the region.

The first motor insurance center for women in the Kingdom officially opened for business on May 1, 2018. The Salama Insurance office, at Salama Tower in Jeddah, is run by an all-female staff.
